We are in the process of developing face to face and on-line training and support opportunities for health care professionals, and intend this to be a major work strand for TID from 2024 onwards. Currently we offer:

  • A TID report writers forum
  • An email group for clinicians interested in clinical work with people seeking asylum

TID clinicians have also been involved in creating training materials:

  • Article for GPUpdate which was emailed to 44,000 primary care staff and is a permanent entry in the online handbook which many primary care staff use (a copy is available on the ‘Info for Clinicians’ Page)
  • Chapters in ‘Seeking asylum and mental health’ published by Cambridge University Press 2024. More information and a discount is available by following this link Seeking Asylum and Mental Health (
